You can say Mary's path toward her career began as a young girl growing up in southeastern Massachusetts where she learned how to cultivate beautiful green spaces at home in the garden with her father and grandfather. As soon as she was old enough to really dig in to the field, she began working for her family's landscaping company which is where her curiosity grew and her knowledge began to flourish.

Mary began her formal education studying horticultural science at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture and later went on to obtain her bachelor's degree in environmental conservation from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During her years at UMA, Mary became highly versed in various plant propagation techniques at the College of Natural Science’s Research Greenhouse where she studied and cared for annuals, tropicals, and herbal plants in the greenhouse laboratory. She also interned for Patrick Lyons Greenhouses and the Durfee Garden Conservatory.

Prior to joining Terren, Mary worked as a manager for Southridge Farm and Nursery in Walpole, MA. While there, she designed custom orders for seasonal displays, container gardens, window boxes, holiday arrangements and offsite landscape designs. In 2014 Mary moved to southeastern Pennsylvania and began working for the arboricultural firm Preservation Tree as an Account Manager coordinating consultations and design projects with clients.
